Record-Breaking Entries and International Attendance Top Off North American International Livestock Exposition
The largest purebred livestock show in the world marked a record-breaking year, with nearly 27,000 entries from 48 states and Canada, plus international attendees from the United Kingdom, Spain, and France. The two-week event awarded 705 purple and gold banners on the iconic green shavings.
“Walking away from the North American International Livestock Exposition with a purple and gold felt banner is a moment exhibitors work all year for and few capture,” said David S. Beck, President & CEO of Kentucky Venues. “With the continued support of our sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, and partners, the show saw a new scale of competition, headlining entertainment, and elevated food, all playing a part in the enduring success of this year’s event.”
Beyond the livestock barns, the annual North American Championship Rodeo presented by Rural 1st® brought in an all-time record-breaking crowd on Thursday and a sold-out Saturday crowd during its three-night run in Freedom Hall. The rodeo featured 104 contestants, including two from Kentucky.
The entertainment didn’t stop in the show rings or the arena. Visitors shopped more than 100 vendors selling western wear, souvenirs, toys, and more. The Hitching Post, presented by Kentucky Venues, brought Kentucky food and live entertainment, featuring headlining acts like Chancey Williams, Alex Miller, Kentucky Headhunters, and Soul Circus.
The exposition also celebrated one of the livestock industry’s highest honors as William H. “Bill” Rishel of North Platte, Nebraska, was inducted into the prestigious Saddle & Sirloin Portrait Gallery. Rishel becomes the 380th inductee, recognized for his decades-long influence on Angus genetics and leadership across the beef industry.
This year also marked the debut of Kentucky Venues’ new smart, multilingual vending machines that expanded food access across the facility and showcased Kentucky-made products. The accessible units offered guests more options during peak traffic and off-hours, while providing a modern digital platform for event messaging.
The next North American International Livestock Exposition returns to the Kentucky Exposition Center November 5-19, 2026.
